Fashion month is in full swing, and it’s providing us with endless inspiration both on the runways and off.
In Milan, Prada, Gucci and Marni’s collections helped punctuate the idea that personal style is king. In London, Simone Rocha gave us an ethereal collection full of ballet-core looks, while JW Anderson swayed into the realm of surrealism. And in New York, designers from Toteme to Tory Burch showcased trends from crafty crochet to athletic-inspired ensembles.
As the Paris shows get underway, we’re taking a moment to look at the emerging street style trends. Tailored pieces—like crisp shirting, oversize blazers, and sleek trousers—were everywhere. Similar to the capri pants trend, leopard prints and sheer skirts are a favorite among the fashion set. There were also some who took advantage of cooler temperatures this Fashion Week, opting to lean into fall/winter dressing and sporting leather jackets, trousers, and statement coats with white tees.
Ahead, shop our edit of the best street-style looks to serve as inspiration for your own wardrobe this season and beyond.
Milan Fashion Week
1. The Collarless Blazer and Maxi Skirt
Collarless blazers are everywhere. Simple, elegant, and ladylike, they’re the newest workwear staple you need to add to your closet. Style yours with kitten heels and a maxi skirt for a foolproof outfit you can wear to the office or the front row.
2. The Pastel Workwear Staples
Take a page out of Prada’s playbook and play with pastels. Mix and match this bright color palette with your favorite workwear pieces for an outfit that will be Miuccia-approved.
3. The Leather Bomber and White Jean
Say goodbye to the age-old rule that you can’t wear white after Labor Day. Here, a leather bomber jacket and white jeans make for an outfit you can wear during that in-between summer-to-fall period when temperatures are a bit more unpredictable.
4. The Fair Isle Knit and Embellished Skirt
Tamu McPherson shows us how to embrace the sheer trend with ease. Try wearing an embellished sheer skirt with a Fair Isle sweater and t-strap heels for a look that is equal parts cozy and elegant.
5. The Graphic Dress and Boxy Jacket
Bergdorf Goodman’s chief merchandising officer, Yumi Shin, illustrates the power of a strong graphic dress. Style it with a boxy jacket to balance out its feminine lines and top it off with statement heels, like this pair from Dries Van Noten.
6. The Tailored Blazer and Skirt Set
Is gray the new black? Embrace an all gray blazer and skirt set for the upcoming season. Top it off with a rosy lip for the slightest pop of color.

7. The Leather Moto and Leopard Skirt
Harper’s Bazaar’s Senior Fashion and Accessories Editor Jaclyn Alexandra Cohen shows how to style the season’s leopard print trend like a fashion girl. Pair it with a leather moto jacket, black bodysuit, and slick accessories like her YSL sunglasses and Khaite Maeve bag.
8. The Shrunken Blazer and Baggy Jeans
Sometimes the best outfits are a little unexpected. A shrunken blazer with baggy jeans is the type of laidback look you can wear throughout the weekend while still being put together.
9. The Crisp White Shirt and Wide-Leg Jeans
Never underestimate the power of a crisp white shirt. Instead of styling it with a typical black trouser, opt for a wide-leg jean in a shade of brown for a refreshing outfit combination this fall.

10. The Pop of Color With a Sleek Trouser
While fall hasn’t officially begun yet, take advantage of the transitional season by pairing your classic trousers with a bright pop of color, like this kelly green shirt. Style with a sleek shoulder bag and pair of shades, and you’re good to go.
11. The Minimalist Dress With an Over-the-Shoulder Sweater and Sharp Accessories
Harper’s Bazaar senior fashion and accessories editor Jaclyn Alexandra Cohen shows us the perfect pairing for fall, wearing a minimalist color-blocked dress by Maria McManus with an Everlane sweater elegantly wrapped around her shoulders. Accessorize the look with a sleek top-handle bag, like her Hermès Taurillon Clemence Picotin tote and strappy heels from J.Crew, for a chic day-to-night look.
12. The Editor-Favorite Sweater With an A-Line Skirt
Among the more surprising trends from Fashion Week was this soon-to-be viral (we’re calling it now) sweater from COS. With its quiet-luxury appeal, the $375 piece was purchased by fashion editors in real time throughout the week (including Lauren Sherman, Rickie De Sole, and me). Here, Cara Santana sports the sweater with an A-line skirt and boots for a foolproof fall outfit formula.
13. The Crisp White Tee With Statement Trousers
Nordstrom VP of fashion Rickie De Sole demonstrates how to add a little drama to a plain white tee: by styling it with a statement pair of trousers, here by Undercover. A sweater over her shoulders (yes, it’s a trend!) adds a bit of visual interest without looking too busy.
14. The Fringe Jacket and Capri Pants
While this trend may be divisive, the truth is, capri pants are not going anywhere. Over the last few seasons, the style has made a resurgence, even receiving the Row’s stamp of approval in the label’s Fall 2024 collection. Try styling them with boho flair with a fringe jacket and hobo bag to match.
15. The Leather-on-Leather Look
Moda Operandi’s Lauren Santo Domingo shows how to get ready for fall with a sleek work-friendly ensemble, keeping the palette neutral, besides the addition of a printed paisley scarf.
16. The Statement Winter Coat With a Crisp White Collared Shirt
It’s never too late to get a head start on your winter wardrobe. Here, Beverly Nguyen shows that all you need is a statement coat to round out your look. Style it with a crisp white shirt and kitten-heel boots.
17. The Oversize Blazer and Tailored Pants
When in doubt, keep things simple. An oversize blazer and tailored pants create a look you can wear to the office any day of the week. Style it with a pair of black loafers and a work tote.
