EAST BRADY – Chiropractic services are now available close to home for people in the East Brady area.
Phillips Family Chiropractic of Butler recently opened a satellite office inside All Fit All Around Fitness, located along Robinson Street in East Brady.
“When the opportunity was presented to us, we decided that it would be great to offer services up here in East Brady,” said Dr. Warren Carr, who along with Dr. Ryan Denny, is now seeing patients two days a week at the fitness center. “Being that it’s a small town, most people have to travel for health care, so we thought it would be a good idea to make ourselves available to East Brady and the surrounding community.”
John Misitis, owner of All Fit, agreed, pointing out that a partnership with Phillips Family Chiropractic was the perfect fit for his overall goal of providing an all around health and and wellness center for the East Brady area.
“I had several people asking for chiropractic services,” Misitis said, adding that the service also fits nicely with the gym’s recent addition of a personal trainer and nutritionalist. “Knowing Dr. Carr and Dr. Denny offered a great opportunity for a partnership to bring these services to the area.”
According to Carr, Phillips Family Chiropractic offers soft tissue work, adjustments and physiotherapy modalities, along with the potential for other rehabilitation services.
“Chiropractic care seeks to reduce pain, immobility and other physical maladies through adjustment and attention to the musculoskeletal system,” states information on the chiropractic practice, adding that over time, chiropractic care will reduce pain, improve range of motion and enhance the body’s natural healing process. “Chiropractic care at Phillips Family Chiropractic is based on the concept that the relationship between the musculoskeletal system and overall health is critical.”
A graduate of Knoch High School, Carr attended Penn State University where he majored in Kinesiology and Movement Science, before earning his doctoral degree from New York Chiropractic College. In addition to participating in clinical care in State College and Kenmore, N.Y., he completed an internship in Buffalo, N.Y., before returning to the Butler area in 2015 to begin his private practice at Phillips Family Chiropractic.
Denny, a graduate of Butler Senior High School, attended La Roche College where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and a minor in Psychology. After graduation, Denny attended Logan University in St. Louis, Mo. where he received his doctorate of chiropractic degree and interned at the Montgomery Health Center. He returned to Butler to begin his career at Phillips Family Chiropractic in 2022.
Reflecting on their careers, both Carr and Denny agree that what they enjoy most is the opportunity to meet and forge relationships with their patients and help them live pain-free lives.
“I enjoy being able to help people find the root of their problems and fix it so they can be pain free without the use of certain medications,” Denny said.
Carr and Denny said that Phillips Family Chiropractic is accepting new patients for the East Brady office, with no physician referral required.
“We accept most insurance companies,” Carr said, adding that new patients can call the office to see if their insurance is accepted. “We also have cash and self-pay options available.”
The East Brady practice is open from 12:30 to 4 p.m. on Thursdays and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. To schedule an appointment, visit phillipsfamilychiro.janeapp.com, or call (724) 283-4800.
Looking to the future, Carr said that the chiropractic office is open to expanding its hours and staffing in East Brady if there is a need in the community.
“We are busy in Butler, and if that trend continues in East Brady, it could give us the opportunity to expand by hiring someone new and provide more time for people,” he said.
In fact, with just three short weeks under their belt, Misitis said he is already hearing positive feedback from the community regarding the addition of chiropractic services and how to schedule an appointment.
“It’s nice to be able to offer this service for the community in their backyard so they don’t have to travel far for chiropractic care,” Misitis said.
Carr agreed, praising Misitis for his continued efforts to provide a place for people to exercise and just take care of their overall health. He also urged the community to take advantage of the services that are offered.
“I think what John is doing with the building here, providing a place for people to come and exercise and take care of themselves, that’s not something that’s been available here for some time,” Carr said. “I think the vision is very exciting, but people have to utilize these things if they want them to be here.”
