Grandma shows off her physique and weight transformation

A super-fit nan with the “perfect body” says people often mistake her for a model when she works out in the gym.

Charlene Farnsworth, 52, is a mum-of-two and grandmother-of-one – and she’s also a keen bodybuilder who spends six days a week working out.

Charlene, who lives in Ontario, Canada, with her husband of 22 years, Mike, doesn’t let the chilly climate get her down and spends most of her time parading around in a bikini.

She said: “People often tell me that I look younger than my age but I’m pretty sure its just because of my body,”

“I’m not the shy girl I used to be because I feel good in my skin.”

Charlene, who has 218,000 followers on Instagram, added she often has people approach her in the gym to ask if she’s a fitness model.

And online, she’s bombarded with messages from men vying for her attention – including men half her age.

Since achieving her incredible physique, Charlene has dabbled in modelling. She’s also now studying to become a personal trainer.

She says Mike’s support is the secret behind the maintenance of her amazing figure and adds the pair are having the best sex of their lives.

She said: “My husband is extremely proud of my accomplishments. He loves the fact that I’ve become so fit and confident.

“He deals with the admirers very well, knowing that he is the one that gets to go through life by my side.

“When I was less confident, I would worry that I wasn’t good enough, not that my husband ever made me feel that way, it was my own issue.

“Now that I feel so good in my own skin, I never doubt myself. I definitely feel sexier naked now.”

She sticks to an incredibly strict diet

To keep her phenomenal figure in check Charlene has a gruelling fitness regime – and she’s revealed just how taxing it can be.

She spends five to six days a week in the gym for three hour sessions and mainly focuses on weightlifting.

Then twice a week, she throws in a cardio session of between 20-30 minutes.

She said: “I work my legs three days a week and split my upper body three days of the week.

“I lift heavy as much as possible, although I have developed an injury in my right shoulder and elbow which has, unfortunately, started to affect my heavy lifting.

I would say weightlifting is the best way to stay fit and lean.”

Charlene is equally disciplined in her diet, which can change depending on whether she’s maintaining her weight or bulking up for a competition.

A typical breakfast would be porridge with protein powder, berries and egg whites. For a morning snack, she’ll eat a chicken breast with rice and red pepper.

At lunch, Charlene will have lean beef mince with rice, salad and low-calorie dressing. An afternoon snack would be almonds, a banana and sweet potato crackers.

For dinner, she’ll have french toast made with just egg whites, protein powder, berries and low-calorie syrup.
