Planet Fitness is offering its free high school summer pass to teens again this year, giving them access to one Planet Fitness club across Michigan from June 1-Aug. 31.
“As the leader in fitness with locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, Planet Fitness is proud to continue to invest in today’s youth by providing free access to fitness during a critical time in their lives,” said Craig Benson, Planet Fitness interim chief executive officer, in a news release.
Here’s what to know about the summer program:
Where can teens sign up for the pass?
With guidance from a parent, teens can either register online or visit their local Planet Fitness club to sign up. Visit PlanetFitness.com/SummerPass to register for the program with club access beginning Sunday, June 1, through Sunday, Aug. 31.
Participants will need to download the Planet Fitness app from the App Store or the Google Play Store and create an account on the app to use a QR Code to gain access to the facility.
At the time of the first visit, a photo will be taken to identify the participant, linking their account.
Do parents need to sign off on the membership?
Teens who are ages 14-17 need a parent to sign off on the program. Those ages 18-19 do not need a parent’s signature.
How much does the membership cost?
High School Summer Pass is free. Participants have access to free fitness training from in-club certified fitness trainers and free workouts designed specifically for high schoolers through the free Planet Fitness App.
Can I use the pass at any Planet Fitness location?
The pass is only good for the location at which the participant is registered. Unlike Planet Fitness’s Black Card membership, through which users can visit any club nationwide, the Summer Pass works like the gym’s classic membership that offers access to one club.
What is Planet Fitness?
Planet Fitness is one of the largest fitness centers in the world, its website says. The commercial gym has approximately 19.6 million members and 2,599 stores in all 50 states, as of March 2024.
The company says its mission is to “enhance people’s lives by providing a high-quality fitness experience in a welcoming, non-intimidating environment,” according to a news release.
