Pineland Farms has announced its Outdoor & Fitness Center building will be closing in just over a month.According to a post on the Pineland Farms Facebook page, the building will close June 1 and the property owner will be exploring future possibilities for the site — including potential partnerships to reimagine or rebuild the facility.The Outdoor & Fitness Center provided equipment rentals for various winter sports on the Pineland Farms property, and it also offered candlepin bowling, pickleball and an open gym.”After careful evaluation, we’ve determined that the Outdoor & Fitness Center building has reached the end of its useful life. The infrastructure is no longer feasible to maintain,” the Facebook post reads.Pineland Farms said its team will be contacting those with existing bookings and who had purchased tickets for activities beyond June 1 directly over the next month to issue refunds and provide additional information.According to Pineland Farms, its Veterans Adaptive Sports & Training (VAST) program will continue to meet at the Outdoor Center through June 30. Pineland Farms said plans for a new meeting location are in the works and will be shared directly with VAST participants through the weekly newsletter and Facebook page.Pineland Farms also said public outdoor recreation will continue to be a core part of its experience, and its trails will remain open for year-round activities like hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing and sledding. Passes will be available online and at the Market and Welcome Center.In addition, disc golf will remain an important part of recreation at Pineland Farms. The facility said a family-friendly 9-hole course will be added to its campus in the near future to go along with the three existing 18-hole courses.Related content:
