Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

The design software has become widely adopted by many companies and firms including architects, engineers, and in the United States Department of Defense. It is used by nearly all Fortune 100 companies and has been the standard design software for aircraft manufacturers for more than 40 years.

Development of AutoCAD began in 1979 and in 1980, the program was first released as CAD-1 (Computer Aided Drafting, version 1). The program was originally developed by Bob Swanson at the Stanford Research Institute for the benefit of the U.S. Department of Defense as a desktop CAD program running on microcomputers with internal graphics controllers. The software was released in December 1982 as AutoCAD, a powerful, but expensive desktop app that ran on microcomputers with internal graphics controllers and was available only on microcomputers with CGA, Hercules or Monolithic Plus graphics chips.

The first commercial release of AutoCAD was version 2.5 in 1984. The original version 2.5 software, CAD/2, was released in December 1984 and supported the Centronics or proprietary port on graphics controllers. It was one of the first 3D CAD software products. Version 2.5 was the first commercially available desktop CAD product that supported the standard Centronics-style, eight-pin, parallel port. Later, the version 2.5.1 update brought with it the ability to use the proprietary VGA port.

A year later, in 1985, the commercial version of CAD/2 was released. Although 2.5 and 2.5.1 were the same software internally, CAD/2 used a Microsoft DOS 5.0 operating system, whereas 2.5 and 2.5.1 used an operating system that was custom made for CAD/2. It was available in a version for DOS-based machines (4.0) and for 286-based machines (5.0). Version 3.0 of AutoCAD was the first release of the product that was available for IBM PC based machines running the MS-DOS operating system.

A version for the Apple Macintosh was also introduced. CAD/2.5.1 was also available for the Apple Macintosh and the Apple II.

In 1990, CAD/2.5.2 added a new user interface, improved the drawing and tool commands and added a 3D cursor that works with color graphics display. In 1991, AutoCAD was first released for the UNIX platform. Version 3.1 of AutoCAD introduced a new

A team of archaeologists from The University of Western Australia have discovered a 35,000 year old cave painting of a “ghostly figure” in Western Australia’s south-western Pilbara region.

Since the nineteenth century there has been some debate about whether the so-called “Ghost Rock,” which is a rock shelter approximately three metres high and five metres long, is a natural feature or whether it was used by humans. The dating of the site is consistent with it being a rock shelter.

In 2005, the rock shelter was studied by anthropologists Nigel Haggerty, of the University of Western Australia, and Ben Potter, of the University of Tasmania. They investigated the site in search of rock art.

One of the pictographs discovered was “a row of representations of supernatural figures. The site is important because it is the first unambiguous evidence of rock art in Western Australia,” according to Dr Norton.

A team of archaeologists including Norton, Temple-Beach and Dr Haggerty, has undertaken the study at Ghost Rock. They have reconstructed the cave wall, and analysed the site based on the cultural and environmental context.

The archaeologists believe that the cave paintings on Ghost Rock represent a spiritual ceremony for the ancestors of the people who made them.
