Why do we need a user-level linear algebra package in Java?
The main reason is that one does not want to have to go through the hassle of learning a new linear algebra package. This happens to be more convenient than a language like C, where one has to compile the code anyway. Another reason is that people use Java for a wide variety of purposes and one may already have a background in Java. Moreover, this is by no means the only linear algebra library in Java, as one can use Apache Commons Math’s LinearAlgebra.
