CHRIS ZAGURSKI AND HIS FIANCE USED TO ROCK CLIMB IN LINCOLN A FEW TIMES A WEEK. TODAY THEY’RE ABLE TO MAKE THE MUCH SHORTER DRIVE FROM GRETNA TO CLIMB AT OMAHA’S CLIMBING. The sport of rock climbing continues to grow in the Metro

The popular rock climbing gym, MW Climbing, has been open in Lincoln for two years. Two weeks ago, Wendy & Matt, the co-founders of the gym, opened their second location.The pair expanded into the metro, bringing MW Climbing to West Omaha.”It is for everyone, take it from me,” co-founder Wendy Huynh said. “I was terrified of heights when I first started climbing.”The space isn’t entirely complete just yet; Wendy & Matt plan to finish a fitness center, café and yoga studio for their customers to enjoy.Chris Zagurski used to go to the Lincoln location multiple times per week with his fiancée. The pair lives in Gretna, which means a location in Omaha cuts down a lot of travel for them. Zagurski’s favorite part is the analytics of climbing.”You’ll get stuck somewhere because you can’t move your foot, or else you’ll fall,” Zagurski said. “So you’re like, ‘Huh,’ you come down, you look at the wall again, and you’re like, ‘What did I do wrong there?'”The gym is suitable for all ages and skill levels.
